Kennedy Music Studio Annual Student Concert 2013

Every year on the 3rd Sunday in June, we present our annual student concert
at The Stone Hall at the Benicia Historical Camel Barns Museum. Groups of two
to five performers sing and play guitar and upright and electric bass on an eclectic
mix of musical selections.

This year’s show featured songs by Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, as well as Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Hoagy Carmichael and Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Among the highlights this year were the performances
of Kyle playing the Koussevitzky Bass Concerto...

...Stephanie playing the Beatles “In My Life”...

...and Philippe singing C’est Si Bon

The show is free and open to the public. This year 60 to 70 appreciative friends and family members attended.

While not mandatory, most love the challenge of performing. Students say that
the push to be ready for the show makes them better musicians. They also enjoy
the camaraderie they experience while playing in groups.
